On October 18, Lufkin Police officers responded to a call of a shooting and found the teen laying in the parking lot near the entrance of the business. Officers packed and applied pressure to the stomach wound until Lufkin EMS arrived. The teenager was transported to an out-of-town hospital, where he was later reported to be in stable condition.

Lufkin detectives' initial review of video from the adjacent businesses shows a truck pulling into the parking lot, a male getting out and walking toward the front door of the business.
