👮‍♂️A Man in the Store Bathroom was Injured

👮‍♂️The man had what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds

👮‍♂️The injured individual was eventually transported to an out-of-town hospital

Authorities with the City of Lufkin Communications Department have released details about an incident that took place on Tuesday, January 16.

Around 2:20 p.m., Lufkin Police & Fire responded to the Gaslight location of Brookshire Brothers for a report of a man in a store bathroom with what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds to his arms.

A Lufkin Fire medical crew transported the individual to a local hospital. The man was later transferred to an out-of-town hospital for a higher level of care. Due to the extent of the man’s injuries, Lufkin Police detectives were called to investigate. Foul play is not suspected.

The man’s identity will not be released due to the nature of the incident. As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, the man remained hospitalized in stable condition.

Numerous Assaults

The Lufkin Police Department issued its latest arrest and response report on Wednesday morning. The report included incidents from Friday, January 12 through early morning on January 17.

It looks like there was quite an uptick in reports of domestic assaults and violence. No doubt, the frigid weather and recent icy conditions kept many people confined to their own homes.

Apparently, and unfortunately, some folks did not handle this well. There was even an incident where a mother and son both assaulted each other.
