Whataburger And In-N-Out Ignite Texas Burger Rivalry
When you grow up in Texas, there are certain brands that you are predisposed to falling in love with. Not because it is a taboo not to be a fan of them, but because they are so great that it's almost a given to adore them.
Companies like Buc-ee's, HEB, and especially Whataburger all have cult-like followings, with legions of fans spanning across every portion of Texas.

Texans Love Whataburger
What started as a humble hamburger stand in 1950 in the small town of Corpus Christi, Texas, has grown to more than 650 restaurants in Texas alone.
Some people claim that Whataburger is the best fast-food burger in the world. A bold claim that Texans have no issue debating with naysayers.
Ever wonder why? What is it about Whataburger that Texans love so much? I could go on and on about how delicious the food is, but it is bigger than that.
Whataburger has been around since the 50s; for many of us, it's been around all our lives. A place we can remember going as a child with our friends and family. Its safe to say nostalgia plays a big role as to why Texans love it.
Is Whataburger Overrated?
In-N-Out, which some people say is the California equivalent of Whataburger, entered the Texas market in 2011 and had instant success.
Many former Californians flocked to In-N-Out with nostalgic memories of their own. However, it did not take long for the comparisons to Whataburger to arise.
Not only were many people saying that In-N-Out was superior, but also that Whataburger was exceedingly overrated.
Texans seemingly did not take this judgment lightly. Sparking a never-ending debate on which is the better of the two franchises.
No one is denying that either restaurant has good food, but the judgment seems to fall more on bragging rights versus which company has the better-tasting food. However, I have seen more fans of In-N-Out call out Whataburger as being overrated than vice versa.

Is this true? Do outsiders see Texans legitimately overrating one of Texas's most beloved institutions? Or are Texans correct in the notion that Whataburger is the superior burger and overall franchise?
