Details have recently been revealed about an unidentified 10 year old boy in Texas confessing to a murder that he committed when he was seven. Here's what is known at the time of writing.

Details Of The Case

According to The Independent, the crime occurred in 2022. On January 18th of that year, a man named Brandon O’Quinn Rasberry was discovered deceased. He was found inside an RV he owned, and was reported missing by his employer.

Investigations unfortunately, at the time, lead to no arrests. Despite law enforcement's following of multiple possible leads, such as interviews with neighbors and Rasberry's personal cell phone data, nothing came to fruition.

The case went cold until this year, where the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office was called to a school in the area, for a unidentified student making threats.

The Student's Alleged Threats And Confession To The Crime

Per The Independent, The Sheriff's Office reports that officers were called to the school by the principal of the institution. According to the principal, the 10 year old student not only was alleged to have threatened to kill another student, but admitted to taking the life of Brandon O’Quinn Rasberry, when he was the age of seven.

Per officers, the unidentified child knew the murder weapon used, and was able to describe how he committed the crime. The child also told law enforcement he did not know Rasberry.

The police department stated the following: “The child was also asked if he was mad at Brandon for some reason or if Brandon had ever done anything to him to make him mad, the child stated no."

Following the young child's revelation, he was taken to a psychiatric hospital. It was also revealed that due to laws in Texas, the child will not be charged. State law says that a child in Texas cannot be held responsible a crime if they are under the age of 10.

As this is a developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
