One of the things that has been constant is the United States Postal Service.  Most people use the post office to mail letters and packages.  They are still the most affordable way to ship a package.  However, all that may change.

Brace Yourself for Changes at the United States Post Office.

The Good News

The USPS will not raise prices on mailing services, this means that the price of a First-Class stamp won't change.

The Bad News

If you ship packages or use priority mail prices are changing.

Starting on January 19 2025 you will be paying more.

  • Priority Mail: increase of 3.2%
  • Priority Mail Express: increase of 3.2%
  • USPS Ground Advantage: increase of 3.9%
  • Parcel Select: increase of 9.2%

Why the increase?

The Governors of the USPS believe these new rates will keep the Postal Service competitive while providing the agency with needed revenue.

This is a way to bring in more revenue for the USPS without raising the cost of postage.

What does this mean for us as consumers and businesses?

Businesses that rely on USPS to ship their products will either have to raise the costs of their products or they will increase their shipping costs.  Either way, you will end up paying more for their products.

This will tend to hurt the business because the consumer probably won't spend as much.

For consumers, sending anything to someone in another town, city, or state, will hit their bank accounts and cost them more. It means more money coming out of the pockets of Americans without any additional money coming

Get ready for the increase in early 2025.
