Driving through Amarillo on either interstate, you'll see many billboards. Nowadays, Buc-ee's billboards grace the skies towering above I-40 or I-27.  Electronic billboards are popping up all over. They are the new digital trend. You can sell more space than you can with a traditional billboard. So why not? They are cool until the panels go out. For example, the billboard on I-27 just past 26th Street often has panels out and loses the advertiser's message.

However, a traditional billboard has popped up on I-27 going south, between Western and the Bell exit. It features a black background with white lettering.

Although it looks biblical, it is not one of the typical God-themed billboards that say:

I am watching - God

or

Life is short...Eternity isn't - God

Most of those billboards are black and have white writing.

These billboards also have a black background and white lettering. However, these particular billboards are trying to debunk the Christian teachings of the Bible, claiming the traditional teachings are false and presenting their version as correct.

How the Amarillo Community Is Reacting

Some of the social media responses to the billboard have been:

These signs are terribly offensive.

So sad.

Jesus is coming soon.

Maybe this billboard will have the opposite effect and people will read the Bible for themselves.

The enemy is on the rampage.

Most Christians believe in the Holy Trinity, which is God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit.

What Does the Bible Say About the Trinity?

Most Christians point to the Great Commission, Matthew 28:19, as the Bible verse explaining the Trinity.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost

While this billboard claims "Jesus is not God," another claims that if you believe in the trinity, you are committing idolatry.

Who Is Behind These Billboards?

The billboards are placed by an organization called World's Last Chance.  They claim to be a group of non-denominational volunteers who are:

dedicated to sharing the last message of mercy given in the Bible and the wonderful news of the return of Yahushua at the time known only to Yahuwah.

Where Else Are The WLC Billboards Appearing?

These billboards aren't just focused on our area; they are found all over the United States. According to a blog by Jason Colavito, the organization is headed up by Galal P. Doss, from Egypt, who is a former Seventh-Day Adventist.

The goal of this billboard was to definitely get people to check out their website and open the door to their theology, while upsetting others who drive by each day.
