
Study Reveals Texas Has Some of America’s Longest Restaurant Waits
A whole lot of people leaving Google restaurant reviews are not happy with the wait times in Texas. In fact, average restaurant wait times in the Lone Star State are some of the worst in the country.
I don’t eat out very often because first, I have two teenagers whose appetites have cost me a small fortune, and second, my wife and I both love to cook. Why pay more when we feel like we can make a top-notch meal ourselves?
Occasional Dining Out Isn’t So Bad
But we do head out for a meal about once every month or two. And while we’ve experienced some long wait times, it’s never been a big issue. In most instances when we have eaten out, I’ve had no complaints.

That said, if we ate out more often, I probably would have more complaints due to the law of averages. I mean, if a ton of people are complaining about slow wait times in Texas, it must be a legit issue.
According to a study conducted by Solitaired, it is a major issue. Researchers analyzed Google reviews for over 22,000 restaurants in 500 cities, looking for keywords that indicated frustration with slow service, and found Texas had the 5th longest wait times in the country. Ouch.
At Least It’s Not as Bad as Georgia
Sure, it sucks to hear that we Texans have to endure some of the longest restaurant wait times, but it could be worse. At least we don’t live in Georgia, where nearly half of the people leaving Google reviews have complained about long wait times.
