Nacogdoches Lowe’s Honors Fallen Soldiers with a Special Memorial Day Tribute
Over the years I've seen some really cool tributes for Memorial Day. I've seen restaurants leave an "open table" that's reserved for fallen heroes, I've seen spaces left "open" at breweries. But this year, I saw one in Nacogdoches that I hadn't seen before, and I thought it was actually a really cool tribute.
Nacogdoches' Lowe's Wins the Day with Their Memorial Day Tribute
When I pulled into Lowe's the other day, I noticed that there was some kind of decorative set-up in the parking lot. Now, keep in mind, Lowe's has some parking spaces reserved year-round for Veterans. This time, one of those spaces was filled, but not with a vehicle.

Check this out:
The sign in the middle of the space says, "For Memorial Day Lowe's is reserving a parking spot in Honor of our fallen Military Members."
I don't know if this is something that Lowe's has done in the past, or if it's new this year. I don't even know if Lowe's in other locations did this. What I do know is that this was a really cool tribute to see at one of our local Deep East Texas locations.

The fact that the employees took the time to set all of this up - the flags, the flowers, the chairs, and even going so far as to build a temporary structure fencing off the space - was a really touching experience.
Again, I don't know if this is a regular thing for Lowe's across the board, but I have to say this: Well done.
