With all of the changes going on around Deep East Texas, things can get outdated pretty quickly. This tends to happen with Google Maps. Now, hear this, I'm not blaming them. To keep up with all the changes, they would have be running their cars on a monthly basis, at least. However, they only run them every few years. However, they're in the process of running them right now, and we have proof.

Google Street View Car Spotted in Nacogdoches

The newest date that I've found on Google Maps for Nacogdoches goes back to 2023. I would consider that fairly up to date. Three years is pretty recent. But a lot has changed in three years. Today, the Google Street View car was spotted in Nacogdoches, in the process of making new maps in real time.

It was parked at the Appleby Sand Depot, located at 3023 Appleby Sand Road in Nacogdoches. I realize that getting excited about this sounds like something insignificant, but having updated things is a huge plus, and not just in the radio industry.

Plus, there's a chance that if you see the car making its rounds, you could get your picture taken, and have it immortalized in the Google universe forever!

That actually happened to me and a coworker a few years ago. Take a look:

That picture was taken by a passing Google Street View car in May 2016 and is now on the Google Maps webpage. The passenger in the van was the Operations Manager at Townsquare Media Lufkin at the time, and as you can see, he took the opportunity to get his picture taken.
