Tesla Delivers First Driverless Car In Austin, Texas
Tesla just announced in an email to customers that they have completed the first driverless delivery in the Austin area. The car was delivered from the Tesla Giga Texas factory located at 1 Tesla Road, Austin, Texas, completely without human assistance in a world first.

Just like the Tesla cars that have recently been released onto the streets of Austin to act as taxi cabs, they can now use that same technology to deliver themselves right to your door in a first that puts Texas in the limelight.
I was actually in Austin when this happened, yet had no idea that history was being made a few streets over on 1515 South Lamar at the Fifteen 15 Apartments.

The news that Tesla made the first driverless delivery also came along with a 3:30 minute video of it driving through the city streets. If you know the Austin area, you can see many local landmarks along the way.
There was a Tesla representative at the driverless drop-off. It might be the very last one that gets served up with a human employee to open the door because of logistics.
