Felony Arrests In Angelina County May 26 – June 1
Out of the 21 felony arrests in Angelina County this week, two stand out from the rest because they made the news.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Broaddus Man Caught Stealing Ice Escalates Charges In Lufkin
Justin Holloway, 38, was arrested by the Lufkin Police Department after an attempt to steal ice from a convenience store in Lufkin, Texas on Memorial Day.
According to the Lufkin Daily News, a struggle ensued while trying to cuff the shirtless Broaddus man leading to a serious injury of an LPD officer. The officer had to get on top of him to put him in cuffs, and Holloway reached for his gun and taser.
The officer then "performed multiple closed hand strikes" to Holloway's face to get his hands off of the weapons.
Once they gained control of the suspect he bit the inside of an officer's left arm.
Cadence Bank Robbery Leads To Arrest In Lufkin
Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Lufkin Police arrested Robert Harris, 47 of Center, following a bank robbery and chase. Harris entered Cadence Bank on Brentwood Drive at 1:10 PM and gave a note to the teller.
Written on the note was his demand for money, and upon seeing that the teller obliged. Harris ran away on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in an older model Toyota Tacoma.

At 1:27 PM officers saw Harris's vehicle on Casey Road and gave chase. The pursuit ended with a PIT maneuver. Harrison was wearing an ankle monitor at the time of his arrest.
