The Back To School Bonanza with the Junior League of Lufkin is coming up on July 25 and 26, and this year, they are taking it inside. Instead of volunteers sweating in the sun for hours doing their best to get children their backpacks and supplies, this year the event will be indoors, and not a drive-through as in years past.

COVID days are long gone, and organizers thought it was time to bring everything back inside the Pitser Garrison Convention Center at 601 North 2nd Street in Lufkin. There are free backpacks, school supplies, health kits, and more available for any Angelina County student entering Pre-K through 12th grade.

Pre-registration for the event has reached its limit, but you can still participate on July 26th. There are two days with different criteria.

Pick Up Your School Supplies At The Back-To-School Bonanza

The two-day event is put together by the Junior League of Lufkin in conjunction with Angelina County churches, businesses, and other civic organizations on the last Friday and Saturday of July each summer.

It is open to all school-aged children in Angelina County. If you pre-registered for the event, pick up is Friday, July 25, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Non-registered pickup is on Saturday, July 26, from 8:00 AM - 12 PM. This is a first-come, first-served day, while supplies last.
