After four decades of serving the Lufkin Community the Pizza Hut Restaurant at 214 South Timberland Drive is officially closing its doors. This marks the end of an era for pizza lovers in our area that started in the Fall of 1984. Pizza Hut relocated to this building after closing the Chestnut location across from Brookshire Brothers.

The year it moved it had the second-largest sales increase in the nation, behind the store in Nacogdoches.

Many personal pan pizzas were eaten at this restaurant after completing their "Book It" summer reading program. You might have even grabbed a cherry tomato from the salad bar a few times.

While it is sad for many of the long-time patrons, Lufkin residents can still enjoy Pizza Hut Pizza from their pick-up and delivery location at 4505 South Medford Drive in Lufkin next to Crumbl Cookie.

Last Day At Lufkin Pizza Hut On Timberland Is Halloween

The Timberland location will be shuttered on November 1st. The current management announced the sad news in a Facebook statement.

They cited the reason for the closure as the increased cost of doing business. They went on to mention that it wasn't feasible to maintain two Pizza Hut locations in Lufkin.

They also expressed gratitude for the support that the Lufkin community has given them over the years. We will still have a Pizza Hut, but the days of a sit-down location in Lufkin are over.
