When I was growing up, school lunches were hit and miss. There were certain days I dreaded and others that I couldn't wait for. When they were good, though, they were really good.

Recently, I had a conversation with a friend of mine about school lunches growing up, and the first thing we talked about was pizza. Those squares that fit perfectly into the big slot on the tray looked like no pizza you had ever seen before. Somehow, it was the lunch we loved most growing up.

Another big day was taco day. For some reason, our lunch ladies decided that cinnamon rolls went best with tacos, and those cinnamon rolls were amazing.

I did some digging, and I stumbled across the recipes for all of my favorite school lunches. Cinnamon rolls, pizza, and even desserts like those weird peanut butter cookies are all included in a cookbook you can find online.

How To Find The Recipes For Your Favorite Childhood School Lunch

Online, you can find a copy of the 1988 version of the Quantity Recipes For School Food Service. Inside this sacred tome are the recipes for almost every school lunch you loved or hated. If nothing else, it's a wild trip down memory lane.

The recipe for the pizza and the pizza crust, we all remember is there. I also found the recipe for the lasagna. There are some recipes that I didn't know existed, and others I'm glad my lunch ladies didn't know about.

The cinnamon rolls are also there. Other highlights include the peach cobbler, sweet potato pie, and the tacos. With these recipes, you can relive your favorite lunch or teach your kids some respect by making those that you dreaded.
