(KNUE-FM) Life is a constant grind for so many people in Texas right now, everyone is just trying to put their head down and get work done. When you ask friends or neighbors here in the Lone Star State how they’re doing, it seems like the most common answer is, “I’m tired.”
People are pushing themselves so hard to continue to see progress at work and at home, it seems like rest isn’t much of a priority anymore. There was a study that was done by Finance Buzz that shows people in Texas work hard as 2 of their top 10 most overworked cities are located here in Texas.
What Defines an “Overworked City”?
It’s like we all fall into this same category, often working 12-13 hours days, but I am one of the more fortunate people who actually enjoys their job so it’s easy for the hours to pass by quickly. But I will say that trying to have more of a work life balance is a goal, it’s just more difficult to as businesses are trying to increase profits.

Key Factors Driving Overwork Rankings
There were 7 key factors that came up with the list of most overworked cities some of which include: the number of hours worked per week, average commute time, percentage of households where two or more people have jobs.
Other factors include percentage of workers that work 50+ weeks per year, number of active workers over 65+, percentage of workers in a city that has two or more jobs, and percentage of workers with a side hustle.
