2025 Texas Bigfoot Conference Returns to Jefferson TX October 18

It's Squatchin' Time in Texas once again, and the Bigfoot enthusiasts in my house, and all over Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and parts unknown, are looking forward to attending the 2025 Texas Bigfoot Conference in Jefferson, Texas, on Saturday, October 18. It's their 25th Anniversary, you know.

But First - Sad News to Report

We are deeply saddened to report the passing of Dr. Jeff Meldrum last month after a battle with cancer. My wife, Donna, and I had the honor of meeting and hearing him speak to a standing-room-only audience at the 2024 Texas Bigfoot Conference in Jefferson. He was an amazing voice of reason and science in the search for Bigfoot and a really nice guy to boot. Our sincerest condolences to his family. He is surely missed.

Texas Bigfoot Conference 2025 Guests

The search and stories will continue at the 25th Texas Bigfoot Conference in Jefferson on Friday and Saturday, October 17-18, 2025.

Featured Speaker - Matthew Moneymaker

Matthew Moneymaker from California has been hunting Bigfoot for many years. He founded the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) in 1995 and co-hosted the show "Finding Bigfoot" on Animal Planet, which ran from 2010 - 2017.

UPDATE: Matt recently underwent hip replacement surgery and will not be able to attend this year's event in person. He will be making a live Zoom presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Chester Moore will be attending the event, with plans to do some speaking and be seated at Lyle's table during the dinners.

Lyle Blackburn Returns

Lyle Blackburn, a native Texan, is an author, musician, podcaster, and cryptid researcher best known for The Beast of Boggy Creek and Texas Bigfoot. His work has preserved the history of The Legend of Boggy Creek, and he’s appeared on programs such as Expedition X and Finding Bigfoot. Lyle's latest book is Lake Worth Monster - The True Story of the Greer Island Goatman, available now. LyleBlackburn.com

• Shelly Covington-Montana - A native Texan and Level II Certified Wildlife Tracker, Shelly Covington-Montana is dedicated to conservation and the pursuit of truth in wildlife research. Known for developing the Sasquatch Alba Vernix DNA and Latent Print Kit, she promotes scientific, evidence-based methods in the ongoing search for Sasquatch.
• Michael Mayes - Michael Mayes, the fourth announced speaker for the 2025 Texas Bigfoot Conference, is the former chairman of the North American Wood Ape Conservancy (NAWAC) and author of Valley of the Apes: The Search for Sasquatch in Area X, Shadow Cats: The Black Panthers of North America, and Patty: A Sasquatch Story.
• Ryan Edwards - San Antonio native Ryan Edwards is a cryptozoologist and author of Cryptids of the World. Fascinated by nature and mystery since childhood, he brings a scientific perspective to the study of unknown species. Ryan travels across Texas and the South, sharing his research and insights into cryptozoology’s blend of science and wonder.
• Mitchel Whitington - Author of more than thirty books, Mitchel Whitington is an expert on the historical and the haunted. His latest work, Marion County Monsters: Cryptids in Northeast Texas, explores local legends and sightings. A longtime fan of the Fouke Monster, he’s now writing a new book on Arkansas cryptids.
