These 32 Long-Term Texas Fugitives Are Still At-Large in 2025
Fugitive - Margaret Lorrain Smith (Wanted for Capital Murder)
On a late summer night of 2007, police detectives believe that 48-year-old Margaret Lorrain Smith of Angleton, Texas led her husband to Surfside Beach. She reportedly left him sitting in the sand as a man she hired beat him to death with a metal object.
Smith and the man she hired were indicted for capital murder in September 2007. Her co-defendant was eventually convicted, but Smith fled before her trial.
She has been on the run since August 11, 2009. Smith has been a Texas fugitive for over 15 years. She will turn 66 years old on January 12, 2025.

She is one of 32 fugitives listed on the Texas Department of Public Safety's 'Still Wanted Fugitive Page'. Some of these fugitives have been on the run for over 20 years.
Troy Allison - Lufkin, Texas Fugitive
In 2003, Troy Allison was paroled from prison after serving 26 years of a 75-year sentence for an aggravated rape charge.
He settled in Lufkin but failed to register as a sex offender. Lufkin Police issued a warrant for his arrest in 2004, but he has been on the run since. Allison would now be 71 years old.
The Search for 32 Fugitives Continues
32 fugitives are listed on the Department of Public Safety's Still Wanted Fugitives Page. It is believed that some of those have crossed into other states and into other countries. Regardless, law enforcement continues its search for these jumpers from justice.
While detectives are hopeful of any tips and leads (new or old), they are quick to remind the public that these fugitives should be considered armed and dangerous.
