A Texas Mega Millions Ticket Worth $1,000,002 is About to Expire

On March 19, 2024, the winning Mega Millions numbers were 24-46-49-62-66, with a Mega Ball number of 7. A ticket sold in Houston matched the five non-Mega Ball numbers. That's worth $1,000,002.

Mega Millions game rules state that 180 days following the draw date, if a prize is unclaimed, that money is forfeited. That means that someone who walked into this All-Season Food located inside a Valero located at 3411 Antoine Drive in Houston stands to lose $1,000,002.

That winning ticket and all the money associated with it will expire on Sunday, September 15, if not validated by the deadline. If choosing to claim the prizes in person, the ticket-holder must do so at a Texas Lottery® claim center by 5 p.m. local time on Friday, September 13. That could be a very bad Friday the 13th for someone.

The ticket holder may also claim the prize by mail. The ticket, along with a claim form, must be postmarked on or prior to the September 15 ticket expiration date and should be mailed to: Texas Lottery Commission ATTN: Austin Claim Center PO Box 16600 Austin, TX 78761-6600

Unclaimed prizes revert back to the state for programs authorized by the Texas Legislature.
