Lufkin Jailer Charged with Selling Prohibited Items to Inmates
According to a release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, an Angelina County Jailer has been arrested and charged with selling prohibited substances to jail inmates.
On October 3, 2023, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Texas Rangers, at the request of the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office, investigated allegations of an Angelina County Jailer distributing prohibited substances (tobacco) to jail inmates.
During the course of the investigation, Texas Rangers discovered that an Angelina County Jailer had transported prohibited substances into the facility and reportedly sold the substances to inmates in the jail facility.
The Angelina County Jailer is identified as Blane Montgomery Wilson, 24, from Huntington.
Wilson was taken into custody and charged with prohibited substances and items in a correctional facility, a felony offense.
