Donnie Webb Will Be Retiring from Hudson Following This School Year
The Hudson ISD Board of Trustees has announced that Scott Martindale has been named the Lone Finalist for the position of Hudson ISD Superintendent.
In an e-mail sent to Hudson ISD staff by retiring Superintendent Donnie Webb, it was noted that the HISD Board of Trustees spent 'countless' hours reviewing, assessing, and interviewing a large number of highly qualified candidates for the position.
About Scott Martindale
Scott Martindale will bring over 13 years of educational leadership experience to the District. Currently, he is the Superintendent for Gunter ISD
Under Martindale’s leadership, the Gunter ISD passed a $78.8 million bond, with a 73% passage rate. He also oversaw the design and construction of a new elementary campus, the addition of a storm shelter that serves the high school and middle school, three state championships in football, a volleyball state title, and the 2023 3A UIL Lone Star Cup.
Previously, Martindale was employed by Iola ISD, where he served as the elementary principal, high school principal, and superintendent.
Scott Martindale has been married to Katie for nearly 24 years. They have two daughters, Mackenzie and Madelyn. He welcomed his son-in-law, Caleb, to their family this past September. Katie has been an elementary teacher for 23 years.
Mackenzie and Caleb are beginning their second six-month-long missionary outreach in the Pacific Islands. Madelyn is graduating from Gunter High School in May and plans to study Business Marketing at Texas State University in the Fall.
What's Next?
The Hudson Board of Trustee must now observe a 21-day waiting period before officially finalizing the hire of Martindale. Once hired, it is anticipated that he will begin as the Hudson Superintendent upon the expiration of the current school year.
