East Texas Store Sells A $2 Million Powerball Ticket
Officials with the Texas Lottery have confirmed that a store in East Texas has sold a winning $2 million ticket in the first Powerball drawing of 2026. Nobody matched all six winning Powerball numbers in Saturday's drawing, and just 1 ticket nationwide matched all five non-Powerball numbers. That winning ticket was sold at the Mr. Kwik convenience store located on High Street in southwest Longview.
The winner of the winning game piece used Quick Pick to match 18-21-40-53-60, but missed matching the Powerball (23). That winning ticket is worth $1 million; however, the player chose the Power Play option for an extra dollar, which doubled their payout to $2 million.

Anyone who matches all six winning numbers wins their share of the current jackpot. Saturday's jackpot was $64 million; the next drawing on Monday, January 5, will be worth $86 million. A ticket that matches all 5 non-Powerball numbers is worth $1 million, while a ticket that matches 4 non-Powerball numbers AND the Powerball numbers is worth $50,000. All other payout combinations are worth anywhere from $4 to $100.
Details On The Last Powerball Jackpot Winner
On Christmas Eve, the Powerball jackpot rose to $1.817 BILLION, and one winning ticket matched all 6 numbers. That lucky game piece was purchased at a Murphy Brothers gas station in Cabot, Arkansas (northeast of Little Rock).
That was the 2nd largest jackpot in Powerball history. The largest Powerball jackpot of all time climbed to $2.04 billion and was won by Edwin Castro in California in 2023.
