Austin Brown will go down as one of the best basketball players to put on a Lufkin Panther uniform. The Class of 2026 roundball phenom has received numerous big-time college offers from schools such as Texas A&M, Minnesota, Iowa, and SMU.

During his tenure, Lufkin has not lost a district game, en route to three district championships. Under the development of Head Coach J.T. McManus, Brown has become one of the premier players in the state.

College Recruitment Timeline

Austin Brown has received a lot of interest from college programs in Texas. In addition to Texas A&M and SMU, other Lone Star State schools that offered Brown include Rice, UT-San Antonio, Sam Houston State, Stephen F. Austin State, Texas Tech, and TCU.

According to 247 Sports, Brown made an official visit to the University of Maryland in College Park on June 23. Just a week later, he made his commitment to the Terrapins.
